Tenure-track Faculty Position in Mathematical Physics

Perimeter Institute invites applications for a tenure track faculty position (equivalent to the level of assistant professor) in mathematical physics. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for a tenured senior faculty position. We welcome applications from outstanding individuals working on all areas of mathematics connected to physics. The successful applicant will play a leading role in the growth of Perimeter's mathematical physics efforts, and in integrating these activities with other related research areas such as quantum field theory, string theory, condensed matter physics, gravitation, quantum information and foundations of quantum theory.

Perimeter Institute is a leading global centre for fundamental research in theoretical physics and its relations to mathematics. The Institute offers an exceptional research environment and is currently staffed with 23 faculty and 20 associate faculty members, as well as 69 postdoctoral fellows, 46 Distinguished Visiting Research Chairs and 51 Visiting Fellows. The Institute’s very active visitor, seminar, conference, and workshop programs attract over 1,000 visitors each year. More information about Perimeter Institute is available here. In particular, the mathematical physics researchers can be found here. The Institute has strong links to the Mathematics programs at the Universities of Waterloo and Toronto.

The successful candidates will have a PhD in theoretical physics or a closely related field, postdoctoral experience, and will have demonstrated exceptional strength in independent research. Interested candidates should submit their application online, including their curriculum vitae, list of publications, and research statement. Perimeter welcomes colleagues with the experiences and competencies that can contribute to our principles of inclusion, equity, and diversity.
