Step 1: Complete All Fields

Perimeter Residency Doctoral Award

Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics is not a degree-granting institution.  However, many of our faculty have adjunct appointments at one of the local universities - currently these include the University of Waterloo (Physics and Mathematics), the University of Guelph (Physics), the University of Western Ontario (Applied Mathematics), York University (Physics) and McMaster University (Physics).   Through these appointments, the faculty have the ability to supervise PhD graduate students, most of whom then take an active role in the activities at Perimeter Institute.   You can find the affiliations of our faculty listed on their webpages, which can be accessed through Perimeter Institute's home page:  http://www.perimeterinstitute.ca.  If you are interested in working with any of these faculty members, we suggest that you contact the university department in which they have an adjunct appointment and the staff members in that department will be happy to answer your questions.

1.  If accepted into the PhD program at a partner university under the supervision of one of Perimeter Institute's faculty members, you may be eligible for the Perimeter Residency Doctoral Award.   This award provides access to Perimeter Institute's facilities as well as financial support in the form of a supplement to the regular PhD funding and a travel grant.  In order to apply for this award please complete the form below and click on the "Submit" button at the end of the form.   Do NOT submit the application form more than once.  If you are having problems completing the application form, please email us at PIResidencyDoctoralScholarships@perimeterinstitute.ca

2.  Shortly after submitting the application you will receive an automated confirmation e-mail containing an "application ID number".

3.   Please notify your referees that they will receive an email with your name, application ID number and a request with a link to upload their reference letter to your application.  As your referees upload their reference letter you will receive automatic emails notifying you that they have been submitted.   If you do not receive a notification email within 2 weeks of your application submission, please contact your referees to inquire about the status of their letter.   Please note that all letters of reference must be on letterhead and must be signed by the referee

4.    Please upload an updated copy of all postsecondary transcripts to the application.  If transcripts are in a language other than English a certified English translation must also be sent to us. Transcripts and letters of reference (if not submitted electronically) should be sent to:
