The PI quantum gravity group has been diversifying a lot over the last couple of years, both in its research directions (LQG/spin foams, infrared modes in gauge theory and gravity, holography, string theory, cosmology...) and its methods (spin networks, quantum groups, TQFT, renormalization, large N methods, machine learning...). While this is a genuinely exciting situation, it is all the more challenging to federate these various activities and converge towards common goals. The idea of this workshop is to encourage such convergence and to encourage students, postdocs and faculties alike to take the time to explore research directions they are less familiar with and will thereby promote new and original collaborations. In particular it will be an opportunity for the PhD students to interact with other faculties and postdocs. It is also an opportunity to strengthen the links and to open new collaborations with the University of Waterloo Quantum Gravity group.
Quantum gravity senior researchers and postdocs will propose various research projects, out of which five will be selected. Participants will choose a project of their liking among this selection and will work on it as a group .
This workshop is by invitation only.
